Low Profile Sockets

There are easier ways to wire a low profile socket, but I feel this is the best way. Rather than using right angled terminals which is difficult to get through the Right Angle Rubber Boot, the wire pigtails are soldered to the socket and covered with Sumitube to seal them completely. The Sumitube holds the 90 degree bend while giving great strain relief.

First, the High Temperature Wires are Soldered

The LP Socket comes with everything shown below. A thicker rubber washer can be order to give more rear clearance. Wires are AVX high temperature wires, and the wire covering is AH-6 high temp sheathing.

The LP Socket is mounted with the rubber and aluminum washers, then the boot is slipped over the wires and onto the socket. Finally, the tab terminals are snapped into the female T-Connector and the wiring with the standard male T-Connector plugged into it.

Note that the wires should be secured in place and not allowed to just hang.
