Non-H4 Headlight Relay Kits

These kits are all about making sure your bulbs get full battery voltage for a brighter light, and protecting your expensive lighting switches. A lot of modern bikes with Non-H4 bulbs still do not have relays to provide full voltage and protect the switches.

Due to the number of different bulbs now used, and the type of sockets these bulbs use, it’s not possible to provide a simple plug in type of relay kit such as the H4 kit. However, with the use of Posi-Lock connectors, anyone can install these Kits by following my step by step instructions for identifying your wires and making great connections.

The kits can be removed at a later time, and the bike’s stock wiring easily reconnected using the Posi-Locks, however you should consider this a permanent improvement to the bike. The kit comes complete with everything you need. You will only need a few simple tools which you likely already have, to install these kits.

Relay kits work fine with headlight modulators!

I have created a new Kit for those doing H4 Conversions to Non-H4 bulbs.

CanBUS Bikes  These new BMWs have a very sophisticated electrical system. DO NOT INSTALL THESE KITS on a CANBus equipped bike. In fact do not modify your stock CANBus headlight in any way. If you need more lighting you’ll have to add Auxiliary Lights.

The CANBus bikes have a headlight parking light bulb which is a good place to tap relay switching power.

DUAL BEAM OPTION - this option can be added to any of the Kits on this page. A diode is soldered into a jumper that will trigger the LO beam relay when the HI beam relay is powered. This means you will have both LO beam and HI beam in HI beam position. If your bike already has both beams on in HI Position do NOT order this option.

Non-H4 Universal Headlight Relay Kit

Kit shown above is for auxiliary fuse panel connection. Kit can also be ordered with a fuseholder for direct battery connection.

Battery Connection Option comes with fuseholder and battery ring terminals.

Fusepanel Connection Option - main lead wires are longer and sheathed to 6 in (15 cm) from ends.

3 Circuit Solution Option has a main lead connector to plug into my 3CS. There is an option for 3CS Sealed too.

Non-H4 Headlight Relay Kit  $68.95

Main Lead Termination

This Kit is for bikes with two single filament headlight bulbs that need a brighter headlight using relays. Main leads are 14 AWG High Temp wire. Bulb wires are 16 AWG HT wire.

COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED!  Each kit provides two relays and all the wiring and connectors you will need to connect to your battery and bulb leads.

NOTE: In order to wire the Universal Headlight Kit to your bike, you will have to identify and cut a few of your bike’s wires and strip the wire ends, then install Posi-Lock connectors supplied on the relay kit. I supply complete instructions with photos to properly install everything, and information to help identify your wires. Do not fear, this will not ruin your bike’s wiring. Got a brand new bike? Start off your new bike with relays the way your bike should have come from the factory! This kit is a positive improvement to any bike, new or old.!

Grounding: Some bikes only have one main headlight ground wire. Some bikes have a ground wire for each light. You use both the kit’s and your bike’s grounds together in all cases.

H4 Conversion Relay Kit

H4-Conversion-Kit

This Kit is for those converting from H4 to headlights with other types of bulbs. Main leads are 14 AWG high temp wire. Bulb wires are 16 AWG high temp wire.

The Kit above was used on a Dual H11 conversion.

The H4 Coupler plugs into your stock H4 Socket and provides HI/LO switching of the new lights.

The bulb leads are simply connected to the leads from your new bulbs. These leads can be shortened to the length required and are long enough to put the relays under the fuel tank or in a fairing.
